Drawing Scenes from ANIMAL WELL in my OWN ART STYLE | Digital Illustrations
Hello There Beautiful Humans!
MY PATREON: patreon.com/ParacosmParty
In today's video, I'll be reimagining two scenes from the amazing indie puzzle platform game, ANIMAL WELL by Billy Basso.
The scenes I chose to recreate in my own art style are "The Extending Ostrich" and "The Cat Monolith".
I hope you all enjoy this shorter video. I'm sorry I've been so MIA recently. I've been so busy with life and work that I haven't had the time or motivation to draw much, but after playing this lovely game, I was immediately inspired.
Pikmin content will return at some point, I'll never stop making that. PIKMIN IS MY LOVE! But I need to explore other avenues, for my own sanity. This video is the first of ...

An idea for the Pellet Poser I came up with this idea yesterday and saw you already made it 🥲 But! I thought a way to make it hidden in plain sight! It would be a huge 50 Pellet Posy, with many big petals But of course it's a trap, and the petals close down Clamclamp-style and eat up those Pikmin latched on After wards it walks around and chases you, like your idea ALSO maybe a boss version of this could be... In an overgrown cave, there would be an 100 PELLET POSY So you would go on a big arena and throw Pikmin on it, but of course it's a huge Pellet Poser, and the roots serve as tentacles Ok! That's my idea! Thanks for reading :) ....if you did

Boss idea: a pikmin sprout in te middle of a cave, but when you pull it up, a giant sandworm pushes you ad all your pikmin bac. The sprout is the uvula of the creature. The sugjested pikmin for the cave its in are the purples. The worm's uvula needs purples to be thrown on it 6 times and 3 purples each. Then, ater you defeat the worm, a orange pikmin onion pops out. Appearence of the boss. Long worm with sharp spikes and mouth like the dune worm. Eyes all around the worm and spikey tail. Attacks: stabbing pikmin with the spikey tail then eating the pikmin. A effect apears below some pikmin and it follows them. Keep moving or the worm pops up and eats your pikmin. The orange pikmin looks: spider like pikmin and its legs are sharp. You can only have 3 orange pikmin at a time. If you throw an orange pikmin at a enemy, the enemy will be controlled and you can make it attack other enemies. You cant control bosses but you can throw an orange at it to make it take away a quarter of its health, ten the orange disinigrates. Sorry for al the spelling mistakes, im on a phone.

I couldn’t find anything official, but the Animal Well Wiki says it’s a Ghost Dog, and the fact it’s found in the dog area and is summoned by taking its frisbee would make more sense for it to be a dog. Spoiler: Also, there is the big cat (I think it’s a Lynx) that gives you the wheel in the bottom right of the map, and it doesn’t feel right to me that there are two different types of the same species.

Alright, so I don't know if it'd be best to submit enemy ideas here here or the pixel art post, so I'll just put it here. I had a hard time deciding what idea to go with, but I noticed that you seemed to like enemies with multiple states/phases, and enemies whose looks can be deceiving. So, I went with one of my more humble creations, the Fringed Skitterleaf. Scientific name Rus Psuedofrivolum for its appearance mimicking a Japanese Maple leaf, which we may all know as the real-life item that is the Arboreal Frippery treasure. It may be small and thin at first glance, but make no mistake, this is a strategic predator. It lies in wait pretending to be a leaf on the floor of sublevels with many such leaves scattered around, however, unlike your typical Skitterleaf, it doesn't react when pikmin get near, or even when stepped upon by a pikmin or captain. It will wait until an opportune moment, such as a captain with a small pikmin squad entering the room, or more likely, a treasure or body being carried. It will then raise up its body on four, spindly, multi-jointed limbs, each cleverly concealed beneath a point of the 5-pointed maple leaf. The fifth point conceals its weapon of choice: a long barbed stinger, which it will use to skewer pikmin one at a time, carefully, before returning to its concealed state once all pikmin nearby have been eaten. It is often found on fake rest sublevels, where the captain will most likely be introduced to this enemy by a sudden drop in their pikmin numbers on a seemingly safe sublevel. But what happens when your captains do encounter this creature with a substantial enough force? Well, the Fringed Skitterleaf will panic, twitching erratically and skewering much quicker. But, on every third skewer, its stinger gets stuck in the ground, giving an opportunity to strike the agile creature. And of course, you can crush it immediately if you know it's there with a well-placed Purple or Rock throw. But would you really do that to such a poor, defenseless, little Skitterleaf? Anyway, I'll definitely leave another comment next episode with more ideas. Especially if you give an idea of what sort of theme your next episode will be on.

These arts and ideas are amazing. As a fan of pikmin, and a long-time creator of fan ideas, ranging from the woefully obvious Toasty Breadbug, aka "breadbug but on fire" (don't pick this one please), to some of my more recent creations, which I think are probably more interesting. I'll definitely be watching all of these vids and posting a suggestion or two from my catalogue on the most recent one (and if this is the most recent one, I'll be back probably before you get to reading this).

This is my personal ranking of the new enemies. 4. Bumbling Bulborb. Cool concept, but the most basic, and I don't really know how the front spikes would help that much, but still a cool design 3. The Man of the Hour. I don't really know why it would resemble a stopwatch in-universe, but I don't really care, and I love the visual appearance of the health and clock face, and how it effects one of it's attacks. 2. Pellet Poser. I don't understand how this isn't in the games yet. I do wish there was a slight tell, or at least will commonly be in a weird spot, but since the health bar is different, it's a small complaint. 1, Burrowing Flukewhip. A better Pellet Poser. I like how this thing attacks, and how you need to use two Pikmin types, not many enemies do that.

Idea 1/3: The Spore Hucker This burrowing snake-like creature with a color style based off of the Smoky Progg goes around and (as the name insists) pokes its head out to shoot spores that will grow into poisonous mushrooms. Unlike the normal poison mushrooms these ones spew out the good ol’ Smoky Progg smoke and if there are too many mushies on the ground it could be devastating for your team so it’s best to break them as fast as possible. To actually hurt this thing you simply have to use rock pikmin to take out the crystal on its head which then leaves a gaping hole in its head killing it. Only issue is is that it’s not dead yet. When your pikmin take it to the onion, it will go inside and start vomiting gloom inside the onion killing pikmin inside. To combat this you can make sure it’s really dead or if it’s in the onion send pikmin up inside praying that they don’t die to insta-kill smoke. Idea 2/3: The Aqua-Gaper The neglected blue pikmin get to hurt this thing. The Gaper has a huge mouth with a jelly sack filled with water that can be broken but leaves a thin covering of water on the ground. It has a light blue color with spirals all over its body, including its pupils. It has a somewhat striking resemblance to the creeping chrysanthemum but with coral upon its head instead. First, the Gaper produces a water shield that doesn’t allow any other pikmin except for blues in and if the blues don’t make it through to the monster’s uvula (weak spot) in time they will be inhaled and consumed. You may also want to get your pikkies back with the whistle before they too become a snack. Idea 3/3: The Volitant Snagret Flying Snagret. It has the colors of some sort of hummingbird and feathers around it’s eyes. It’s found soaring above wide and open areas awaiting prey to stumble under its shadow similar to that of the Threaded Murkgrab but moving. As soon as any pikmin or your captain stands on the shadow it darts downward crushing whatever’s under it and what it missed get eaten. Once combat has started it glides above you just in range for yellows or winged pikmin to be thrown at it. They can either weigh down the wings with 30 pikmin or start massacring its head by letting pikmin climb up its neck. Though the feathers around its eyes puff out when attacked which stab pikmin (except for rock) and pump a poison into them that even white pikmin aren’t immune to. You have to pluck the feathers manually out of your pikmin so if many of them have a feather then your death toll will increase. Luckily once the Snagret runs out of feathers it will start regrow them over the span of a minute. (you don’t have to use all of these ideas btw)

Pikmin Idea: Concealed Whistler: the concealed whistler, or CW for short is, a small insectoid creature with a segmented body. it has a long mouth similar tto a tardigrade. it has 6 legs, with small sharp rocks on the end of each one, it has fur near its long tail. at the end of its tail is a poison tip. And its most important feture a curved horn on it's head. Attacks: it would hide in the wall and whistle, attracting your pikmin, as they were lured, it would attempt to eat them, you would have to ochi rush the wall to knock it out. its other attacks would consist of slicing pikmin, shooting poison from it's tail that would poison, slow, and weaken your pikmin. It could suck them to eat them. It calls with its whistle for each attack so it could attack your whole group.

Pre-warning: The paragraph is big so I listed all the important stuff without the drama underneath I have an idea that I'd love to see maybe be added into your next video! The Fleeting Swiggleswump is a new enemy pretty much completely independent in character design. It's a large dark blue bunny, shaped kind of like Oatchi, and it has tiny front arms like a T-rex. However, wary players shouldn't expect those arms to stay small for long - this new enemy can expand it's arms, trap Pikmin in a bear hug and eat them! It has a cute appearance with black button-like eyes and a likeable yet deceiving smile like one you might doodle on a cat. However, every enemy's gotta have more than just one attack mechanism, and that's where it's (ahem) butt comes in. You see, it can leap very high but, instead of immediately squashing the target, it instead begin to spin in the air while falling, effectively acting as a drill that kills all Pikmin who touch it in this motion and knocking back those who are near. The Fleeting Swiggleswump has a pair of wings no bigger than a Pikmin on it's side, with yellow colouring and white tips. These wings, although mostly useless, are the reason why it can spin so spectacularly in the air. It requires 50 Pikmin to carry it once defeated (I hope you have some Purple Pikmin on hand) however, it has one last trick up it's sleeve. When it's within (in the game's layout distance) a couple dozen of meters' distance to the player's landing spot, it starts shaking suddenly, making most Pikmin (leaving aside rock and purple pikmin because they're slightly heavier) fall off of it. It repeatedly stomps it's feet and finally, as a grand finale before it's eventual defeat, opens it's mouth. Where you might assume a small, harmless set of herbivore's teeth could be found, you are instead revealed to the shock of a gaping, wide mouth with demonic fangs, yellowed slightly and curved inwards. The Fleeting Swiggleswump is a large dark blue bunny with big feet and tiny arms. It can stretch it's tiny arms to squeeze Pikmin to death and/or eat them. It has cute button eyes and a face like this ( :3 ) as well as the ability to leap up into the air and spin around before stomping, which kills all Pikmin it hits and shoves back any others near. It has small yellow wings but it cannot fly. When it's dead it can sometimes reanimate by shaking and opening it's mouth, which has a lot of sharp teeth and a curved pink tongue with a fork. It then proceeds to rampage, trying to eat your Pikmin and shaking off any others on top of it while simultaneously stomping it's feet.
